Gorilla Estate

In a reflection of the growing demand for affordable housing in East Africa, FBW is active in several large-scale developments regionally. In Rwanda, our MEP and Structural Engineers are designing the 536 apartment Batsinda II housing project and Cactus Green Park. We are also currently working on an architectural masterplan for the 600 unit Gorilla Estate. FBW was recognised as a finalist in the NHCC Jubliee competition in Uganda.

  Hospitality Sector

The hotel sector in East Africa continues to be buoyant, with FBW recently being appointed to undertake full MEP Engineering services for the Four Points hotel by Sheraton in support of an international design team. The hotel will have approximately 200 rooms, conference facilities, restaurants, a gym and pool and represents Starwood's third largest brand. In addition, FBW has also been commissioned to undertake a feasibility study and develop initial designs for a branded 60-room, 3-star business hotel in Kisumu, Eastern Kenya and is working closely with both the developer and potential operators to develop the project.

  Healthcare Sector

The Medical Research Council and Uganda Virus Research Institute have commissioned FBW for the design development and construction oversight of a Mothers and Babies (MaB) Clinic (phase 1) and HIV Care Research (HCR) clinic (phase 2) to be located in Entebbe, Uganda. The modular design of the concept allows the proposal to be broken down in different phases, and Phase 1 has commenced.
