  Sustainable architecture for the World Bank

FBW was recently commissioned to provide a concept design and feasibility study for the new World Bank and IFC office in Kampala, featuring a semi-glazed roof and an irregular elevation treatment.

  Science laboratory for the International School of Uganda

Building on the continuing confidence of our work within the education sector, FBW has been commissioned to design new science labs for the International School of Uganda in Lubowa. The novel design has been specifically developed as a teaching aid and includes renewable energy features such as locally sourced bamboo solar shading to minimize heat gain and a solar chimney to provide natural ventilation and heat extraction.

Congratulations to the Salama Shield Foundation on the opening of their new Educational Centre in Lyantonde, Western Uganda that was designed and supervised by FBW.

FBW has also been chosen to provide a specialist sustainable building consultancy together with an appointment for the masterplanning, design and oversight of the planned rehabilitation of Kaliro Teacher Training College, for Uganda's MoES

  FBW appointed to design for MRC

Concept designs for the Medical Research Council in Uganda have been completed by FBW. These include a mother-and-child and an HIV clinic in Entebbe as well as two new clinics in Kampala.

  Services engineering at the Slipway Hotel, Tanzania

Slipway Hotel

FBW, in association with Mechplan, have completed the MEP designs for the new Slipway Hotel in Dar es Salaam. The Electrical Engineering design incorporated lighting, small power, CCTV, fire-detection, lightening protection, multi-media, voice and data. The Mechanical Engineering and Public Health design featured above-ground drainage, domestic supply, ventilation, comfort cooling and fire fighting.

  New Heineken wastewater treatment plant completed in the DRC

Engineering delivery in difficult locations - our projects for two new wastewater treatment plant installations have been completed and are now operational at Heineken breweries in Bukavu and Kisangani, DRC. FBW has provided engineering over-sight and site supervision of the construction works on behalf of the specialist installer CUSS of Germany and in association with Hatch GOBA, the design engineer.

  FBW celebrates 15 years in Uganda

FBW Group celebrated its 15th Anniversary in Uganda at the British High Commission in Kampala with an invited guest list of clients, colleagues and friends from the construction industry, who have supported the company over the years. Alison Blackburne, the High Commissioner, offered her own congratulations on the company’s achievements from 15 years of operation in Uganda, highlighting FBW Group’s quality work.
